With a population of less than 10,000, Amityville dates back to colonial times. Settlers are believed to have landed in the area in the 1600s.
Although it is probably best known as for being home to the infamous “Amityville Horror” house, it is actually a family friendly town with plenty to do.
Village Beach provides an ideal location for relaxation and recreation. If you prefer land sports, James A. Caples Memorial Park has athletic fields, a launching ramp for boats, and a playground.
The Junior League of Amityville is constantly planning fun activities for the entire community including the Mayor’s Spring Social and The Kickoff to Summer Barbeque.
